Photos: Snake born with two heads found in the USA

A snake with two heads has been captured in the USA by 42 year old Jason Talbott, who found the snake living in the wild, before photographing it and taking it into captivity. Although it looks a bit beastly, the snake is harmless and Jason admitted that its bite would not be enough to break a human’s skin.

Jason said: ‘It is estimated that it is 1 in 10,000 but it is hard to know a true number as they are wild and elusive animals and survival rate is very low.
‘I’m a massive fan of creepy crawlies and snakes – I’ve photographed hundreds of them and received a fair few bites along the way. Fortunately they were non-venomous ones.
‘The snake had been found by a few of my friends in the wild and when I heard about it, I jumped at the opportunity to get some photos.

‘What was funny about the snake was that the two-heads had different personalities. One of the heads was very aggressive and kept trying to bite at objects.
‘But the problem was, because they both shared the same body, the aggressive head needed the other one’s cooperation to move. It was quite funny to watch, really.’

Fuel scarcity: Lagos band indiscriminate queues at petrol stations.

Read the press statement below...
The Lagos State Government on Wednesday said it would no longer allow indiscriminate parking of vehicles on the road networks across the state on the basis of queuing up for Premium Motor Spirit otherwise known as fuel, just as it threatened to sanction any erring filling stations and motorists who flout the directive.
Rising from the weekly State Executive Council Meeting, the government said it can no longer tolerate the attendant traffic gridlock associated with the indiscriminate parking of vehicles on the road, adding that the enforcement on the directive would commence immediately from today (Thursday).

While addressing a joint press briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, said as much as the government empathized with the people on the difficulties they have been subjected to as a result of shortage of petroleum products, it would however not watch and allow the situation cripple the flow of traffic in the state.

Mobereola, who addressed journalists alongside the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde and heads of all the government agencies involved in traffic management in the state, said the resolution of the State Government was borne out of the need to prevent the fuel shortage from degenerating into a state of anarchy.

He said: “Having empathized with the citizens, we are all aware that it is important to keep certain things in check and this is why we are addressing this press briefing in sync with the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC) and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to send a strong signal to those who do not appear to be very mindful of the law particularly in the manner in which they are administering the sale of fuel all over time.

“In essence, what we are saying is that we will no longer accept indiscriminate queues that result in blocking traffic and easy flow of movement all over the state and that wherever this happen, we would have to deal decisively with any erring filling or petrol stations according to the law”.

Giving further details, Mobereola clarified that the action of the State Government became imperative owing to the fact that the state had been almost at a standstill as a result of fuel dispensation, saying it was the responsibility of dispensing filling stations to ensure that same was managed appropriately.

On the vehicles forming more than one lane, the Commissioner said: “Let me make it very clear that we will apprehend the vehicles that are going beyond one lane in queuing up for fuel. We will tow them away, charge them and fine them appropriately.

“The truth is the ease of making traffic easy is the responsibility of everybody starting from the state, the filling stations and the users. The indiscriminate queues has been going on for too long and it must stop because the minority cannot be punishing the majority and that is the problem the state has been facing and this has to stop.

“We have all our enforcement agencies with us; we have spoken to the PPMC and DPR as well and so from tomorrow, we are stating it categorically that all dispensing filling stations must maintain one lane and any vehicle that we see that is forming the second lane or going to the exit to want to go in to the filling station will be apprehended, towed away, fined and we are going to make sure that our Mobile Courts are working and punishing any erring motorist,” Mobereola said.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Chris Olakpe reminded motorists that the fine for willful obstruction of traffic ranges from N10, 000 to N100, 000, while owners of impounded vehicles would also pay fines for towing ranging from N10, 000 to N100, 000 as the case may be.

Ekiti Ex-Speaker reveals how he took Aluko to Fayose, says; “Aluko and I prostrated three times to beg Fayose”

Immediate past Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Dele Olugbemi has disclosed how he took the embattled former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, Mr Temitope Aluko to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Sunday, saying;
“It was a lie that Governor Fayose stage-managed the reconciliatory meeting and that himself, and Aluko prostrated for Fayose three times to beg the governor to forgive him (Aluko).”
"Olugbemi, who said he was surprised that Aluko could address the press yesterday and deny that he willingly attended the Sunday night meeting with Governor Fayose and that he spoke to the press under duress after the meeting, disclosed that he, out of genuine concern for peace took Aluko to Eko Hotel, Lagos venue of the meeting.” He said;
“The existing cordial relationship between Aluko and myself brought us to a discussion that eventually led to the last Sunday April 3, 2016 meeting. The former speaker said Aluko cannot deny that he re-affirmed that Governor Fayose remained his mentor, leader and father, that all his previous actions were devils work, and that he was under spiritual attack when he was saying all those things against the Governor.
“Even when the Governor told him to sit down, he prostrated and I also prostrated along with him to beg the Governor for total forgiveness. “The Governor asked Aluko four questions: whether he knew the implication of his coming to him; why he behaved in that manner; how old he was; and whether he wanted the reconciliation to be total or partial and he (Aluko) replied that he knew the consequence of coming to him and that if he did not want total reconciliation, he would not come to see the Governor.
“At this point, Aluko stood up again, saying my mentor, my leader, my egbon, I am your boy, you know, I am your boy. Whatever step I have taken before now, forgive me. Aluko and myself prostrated again.” Narrating how the meeting was arranged and held, Olugbemi said; “Before we agreed to meet in Lagos, I first suggested that the meeting should take place in Ekiti State Government House after the wedding of the niece of Governor Fayose but Aluko said he was not too comfortable with the arrangement because of fear that he might be arrested.
“I re-assured him that the intention of the meeting was not to arrest, embarrass or humiliate him rather than to reconcile with Governor Fayose, whom he called his mentor. “In the morning Sunday, April 3, we agreed to meet in Lagos and I left Ekiti for Lagos. I got to Lagos at 12 noon; I lodged in a hotel at Magodo Area of Lagos. “At 1 pm, Aluko called me to confirm my hotel room number and I gave it to him. Aluko called me back and promised to be with me within 20 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, he called me again, and I told him that I was barbing my hair at a salon in Magodo. He asked me to come out of the salon and we met. He came in a blue Ford Jeep together with his woman. “I joined them in the car and we drove to my hotel room where Aluko stayed with me till 2 pm. He later instructed me to call the Governor to ascertain the time and place of the meeting. “I called the Governor, he did not pick the call. I later called Chief of Staff to the Governor. The Chief of Staff told me to call either the ADC or CSO to the Governor for further directive. The CSO told us that the meeting will take place at the Governor’s House residence in Magodo at 7.30pm. “I told Aluko but he was not too comfortable with venue of the meeting. He said if the meeting is about reconciliation, it should hold elsewhere and not the Governor’s residence. I pleaded with the Governor that the meeting should hold elsewhere as demanded by Tope Aluko, which the governor obliged. “All these I was doing because I wanted the crisis to be totally resolved. “Immediately we were told of a new venue for the meeting, Aluko left my hotel room for Victoria Island and promised to come back at 7pm. At 7.45pm, Aluko came back to meet me at my Magodo hotel. At 9pm, I called the Governor to inform him of Aluko’s arrival. The Governor asked if I was sure Aluko was with me and I said yes.
“The Governor told to us to come to Eko Hotel and his friend will welcome us and that he would join us later. We drove in Aluko’s car, myself, a woman, a driver and my Personal Assistant. “We got to the Eko Hotel at 9.50pm. We were taken to the Hotel waiting room. Myself, Aluko, ADC, the Governor’s friend entered the same lift to the fourth floor of the hotel. “Inside the hotel room, we prayed and I opened the floor for discussion as agreed by Aluko. In my submission, I pleaded with the Governor to forgive and forget about the previous comments and allegations made by Aluko against him since he is father to us all. Aluko interjected and said that I should allow him to lead the talk. “The Governor told him to stop fooling himself at 50 and since he allowed himself to be used by the APC at 50, what legacy will he leave for his children? The Governor told him that there is going to be reactions to this meeting by the APC and therefore advised Aluko switch-off his phones and rest for at least for two weeks to avoid counter allegations.
The Governor said that the APC will fire back at Aluko because of the money he had received from the APC to malign him. “Aluko promised the Governor to dismantle all the structure he had put in place to attack the Governor. The Governor said he had forgiven him totally and that he should go and sin no more. “The governor told Aluko that he would call soon and that he would need to study him (Aluko) very well within two weeks because he could go out of the meeting and say something different. “The Governor also said it was better to let the press know that he had reconciled with Aluko to which he initially disagreed and later agreed to meet the press with the Governor, and myself, which we did and the video recording is everywhere for the public to see. “On Tuesday April 5, 2016, Aluko called me, sent a text message to me that things were falling apart as the party, and aide of the governor were attacking him. That he would renege on his promise. I advised him not to take any negative action or talk to the press if he wanted his already battered image to be rebuilt. Unfortunately, he did not listen to my advice and having come to deny what he willingly took part in, I have no option than to let the public know the true story.”

Policemen to undergo drug abuse test- Arase

Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has said that all Policemen will henceforth undergo snap urine tests to detect any signs of drug abuse before they can be issued firearms. Arase said this at the launch of drug testing kits and campaign against sudden death of police officers in Abuja today April 6th.
“After an in-depth study, my team and I have found out that some of these fatal cases could be due to mishandling of firearms by police officers who are psychologically unfit to handle firearms at that time. We have therefore decided that the medical assessment of persons we recruit into the police Force will include a psychological assessment“he said.

Kerry Washington calls out Adweek magazine for photoshopping her recent cover photo

Kerry Washington has accused Adweek magazine of photoshopping her recent cover photo which left her completely unrecognisable. In an Instagram post, the 39 year old Scandal star said she was "taken aback by the cover" and left her with an "unfortunate feeling"
"So...You know me. I'm not one to be quiet about a magazine cover. I always celebrate it when a respected publication invites me to grace their pages. It's an honor. And a privilege. And ADWEEK is no exception. I love ADWEEK. It's a publication I appreciate. And learn from. I've long followed them on Twitter. And when they invited me to do a cover, I was excited and thrilled. And the truth is, I'm still excited. I'm proud of the article. And I like some of the inside images a great deal. But, I have to be honest...I was taken aback by the cover.
Look, I'm no stranger to Photoshopping. It happens a lot. In a way, we have become a society of picture adjusters - who doesn't love a filter?!? And I don't always take these adjustments to task but I have had the opportunity to address the impact of my altered image in the past and I think it's a valuable conversation. Yesterday, however, I just felt weary. It felt strange to look at a picture of myself that is so different from what I look like when I look in the mirror. It's an unfortunate feeling. That being said. You all have been very kind and supportive. Also, as I've said, I'm very proud of the article. There are a few things we discussed in the interview that were left out. Things that are important to me (like: the importance of strong professional support and my awesome professional team) and I've been thinking about how to discuss those things with anyone who is interested, in an alternate forum. But until then...Grab this week's ADWEEK. Read it. I hope you enjoy it. And thank you for being patient with me while I figured out how to post this in a way that felt both celebratory and honest. XOXOXOX"
A statement released by Adweek editorial director James Cooper, said:
"Kerry Washington is a class act . We are honoured to have her grace our pages. To clarify, we made minimal adjustments, solely for the cover's design needs. We meant no disrespect, quite the opposite. We are glad she is enthusiastic about the piece and appreciate her honest comments."

Photos: 5-year-old girl who is gradually going blind from rare disease gets her wish to see Pope Francis

Pope Francis on Wednesday April 6 met Elizabeth "Lizzy" Myers, a five-year-old American girl who does not know she is gradually going blind from a rare genetic disease, Usher syndrome.  Her parents are trying to get her to see as many things as she can, including meeting the Pope.

Accompanied by her parents and her little sister, Lizzy was able to speak to the 79-year-old Pontiff in an emotionally charged encounter at his weekly general audience at St Peter's. Pope Francis stroked the little girl's face and gave her a rosary.
"She was awestruck. She just teared up," her mother Christine Myers, who is Catholic, told reporters afterwards. "To her he's the big guy in the white hat."
"He asked us to pray for him and told us he would pray for us," she added.
Lizzy, whose case has received big media coverage in the United States, is not aware that she is suffering from Usher's Syndrome, which will eventually leave her deaf and blind.
Her parents said they would tell Lizzy, who already wears a hearing aid, about her condition gradually as she asks questions.
She could be blind in about seven years so they have started what they call a "visual bucket list" of sites and people they think she should see while she can.
The Myers family, from Belleville, Ohio, have spent the week in Rome taking in the city's historic sights as part of the "bucket list", drawn up in the knowledge that Lizzy has only limited time to see some of the wonders of the world.
Lizzy gave the Pope a piece of a meteorite she was given when she was a special guest at the Warren Rupp Observatory in Mansfield, Ohio, one of the first places on her parents' list.
Her condition, Usher Syndrome Type II, means that she will gradually lose her hearing and her sight. Following publicity surrounding her diagnosis, the family was offered free flights to anywhere in the world.
After reading of her case, an airline offered them round-trip tickets to anywhere in the world and the family chose Rome. They opted for Rome partly because Lizzy had been struck by Francis's fatherly air.
As well as meeting the Pope, she has this week visited the Colosseum and been treated to a VIP tour of the Italian capital's zoo.
"I feel like I have very little time to show her so much," her father Steve Myers said.
Her mother said she and her husband wanted to make sure that she also saw simple things while she could, "like bonfires and fireflies"

'There are plots to kill Buhari' - Father Mbaka alleges

Catholic Priest and Founder, Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria, Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has alleged that there are plans to kill President Buhari due to his ongoing fight against corruption. Mbaka said this during his New Year sermon in his church yesterday.

“Nigeria, as we speak now, economically, security wise is in the intensive care unit; if the oxygen is removed, Nigeria will die, people of God prayed, from here and there and God gave us Buhari. God has told us that Buhari is prayer answered; President Buhari is an answered prayer; whether you hate him or like him, Buhari is prayer answered;
the Bishops of Nigeria, the Catholic Bishops prayed against bribery and corruption and this President came with a charter that has to do with war against corruption; all the prayers we have been doing about bribery and corruption, God answered it in Buhari who decided not to discriminate; there is nothing like religious or political discrimination in Buhari’s government. He needs all the support, unstoppable support; spiritual and otherwise; because if he is not the man in power now, had it been the last regime continued, by now, Nigeria would be for sale. I am not a sycophant; but I want to tell you that so far God is happy and he who God has blessed none can curse. Many people are planning to kill Buhari; there are many plans on how to eliminate his life so that corruption will continue; so that embezzlement will continue"he said

Mbaka called on Nigerians to wait on God

"No matter how malignant the problem is, God says He will be in charge; fellow Nigerians, let us wait upon God; I have a new message; I’m blessing and covering the message we are giving now in the prophetic name of Jesus; Father speak now as your servant listens. In 2013, there was a prophecy that there was going to be an oil doom after several years of oil boom, and when that message came out of this ground, many started calling me a prophet of doom. How can there be oil doom in oil boom? And the oil price continued to climb, but the message said people should start to gather as in the days of Joseph, that the people in government should continue to gather, let them stop squandering our wealth; but they never listened; throughout the six years we passed in the past administration, God blessed our oil with high prices, over N140 per barrel, but the message kept coming, don’t mind the oil boom, there is going to be oil doom, our politicians stop embezzling our wealth but they said the money will continue to come, our oil will continue to flow.”‎he said

Wande Coal reacts to Olamide, Don Jazzy clash

Wande Coal is now trending for this tweet he posted just a few minutes after the Don Jazzy, Olamide clash at Headies Awards. He then followed Olamide on Twitter...

Oh dear! Olamide rips into Don Jazzy on Twitter after clash at Headies awards

2016 has officially started off with a bang and if any industry beef tops this this year, I'll be seriously surprised. Olamide has taken to Twitter to rip into Don Jazzy after a clash at the Headies awards tonight. So here's what happened. Reekado Banks, who is under Mavin Records beat the likes of Lil Kesh, Korede Bello, Cynthia Morgan and Kiss Daniel to win The Next Rated Award for 2015.

This obviously didn't go well with Olamide and he made his feelings known when he climbed the stage with the whole YBNL team, when his artist Adekunle Gold won the award for Best Alternative act for his song, Shade.

While expressing his appreciation, LilKesh prostrated before Olamide who then took the mic and said; "This award belongs to Lil Kesh. Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that shit! The streets ti take over. Every f**king single was a hit back to back. From lyrically to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody", he then threw the mic down and they all walked off the stage.

After Olamide's speech, Don Jazzy won The Special Recognition Award & while taking his award, he addressed Olamide's rant on stage. He said "Egbon Olamide, if you want the car, come and take it." (Next Rated win comes with a car).

Olamide went nuts after this and came for Don Jazzy on Twitter. See all the drama/video after the cut
